Making a picture

I've been working on illustrations for my book. Although, after doing some research, I read that unless you are a professional illustrator, it is usually best to submit the manuscript without illustrations, so now I'm not sure if I'll end up using them. We'll see.

Anyway, I took pictures of my progress during this one. It is fun to see the transformation.

Here is a picture I took at the office (from left to right, professions: landman, reservoir engineer, geologist, and finance). It goes with a line in the book. I'm missing the petrophysicist, but he got caught up in another meeting.
Anyway, these lovely people agreed to pose for me.

Then I took the picture home and started to sketch.

I filled in the sketch with colored pencils

 Then after it was colored I scanned it into the computer, I used the 'enhance' function in iPhoto. I thought that looked kind of neat.
