Headshots

For our career month, the office brought in someone to do free headshots. I signed up, but forgot (luckily I was after lunch). So when I saw the photographer downstairs, I walked over to Nordstrom at lunch to have them do my makeup. I also wore a spare dress I found in my office.
I thought they turned out great considering!

Spilt milk

I dropped a bag of breastmilk at the office and it exploded. I called maintenance and they said they would shampoo the carpet that night. So I left them a note to notify them of the location.

I'm writing a book

A children's book, about petroleum engineering. Because, there should be more children's books about petroleum engineering. Ones where the oil people are not the villains.

Plus it's just an interesting science that is not well known to the general public (maybe because there are not enough children's books about it).

The text is more or less finished. I wanted it to be three things
1) an accurate depiction of petroleum engineering,
2) to rhyme, and
3) to be simple enough for kids to understand.

It's definitely the first two, not sure about the third. The wording got a little more complex than I had planned, but I had so much fun with the rhyming.

Here are some illustrations that I may use.

I was on the slope Tuesday so I took some pictures at the CPF2 facility that I could use.

This is the working title. Van posed for this picture with me so I could draw it. :)

Hiking McHugh

Svea took the kids up McHugh. Esther and Jon and I started up about when they started down and we met in the middle.

And for fun, a picture of Svea and I. She was sewing shirts.

Last day of pre-school

Esther on her last day of pre-school. Awwwww

Minivan

We bought a minivan!

I'm so excited to take the cousins with us on adventures. Also a new place for Esther to nap.

Playing with Snapchat while waiting for it to start

Ready to go!

Swimming

 Biking

 Running

I think he had fun, or maybe he just knew I was excited about it. We needed better clothes for him. He did it in basketball shorts, they stayed wet and he was really cold. Next year we'll find his swimsuit, or change or do something different. We'll see.

Regardless, it was super cute.

Kid Art

We've been doing a lot of good kid art around here.

Esther drew me this picture.

Van made this card for Ann's birthday

Esther made this picture of us when she was supposed to be sleeping. I was impressed with how well she spelled my name from memory.

Family Pictures!!

We went to JCPenny's for family pictures and had the best experience.

It was quick and inexpensive. The pictures were great, we got to see them about 20 mins after our session and pick what we wanted to order. I can't wait to go back again!

Here I am heading out of the house

I chose white, pink, grey, and khaki for colors for our outfits. They helped us select background theme colors, both were great.

Esther picked out her kitty cat shoes.

They spelled our last name

The best!
