We finally got snow!!!
I met Svea and Beth for skiing. I knew Van would head out with the fast kids so I snapped a quick picture of him before he left.
I got Jon bundled up in the Chariot and asleep.
My team.
With Ethan, Finn and Van.
After the big kids took off, Esther and I started out.
With her brand new (to her) big kid skies this year, she was one happy skier.
She did so awesome, she was a happy, sweet little skier.
Until right after this moment. We'd been skiing for about 45 mins and had probably gone just under a mile. (slow progress, but we were happy).
And then things fell apart. Suddenly she was done. and I was in trouble. I mean if it takes 45 mins to get a happy 3 year old a mile, imagine how long it takes to get an upset one back the same distance... And with me pulling Jon, I didn't have a lot of options to get her back.
Luckily my friend Jean skied by at that exact moment and offered to help. She skied with Esther on her back- piggyback style. The day was saved!
Unfortunately Jon was so comfy and sound asleep that transferring him back to the carseat when we got to the truck made him mad and so he cried the ten minute drive home, which made Esther cry the last few minutes so when I walked in the door with two crying babies, Andy thought I had been torturing everyone.
But I'd still call the trip a success. She did awesome. It was fun to see her so much stronger and more stable than last year. Plus she takes direction pretty well so teaching her was not as draining as some other children I have. Next time we'll just do a shorter loop and she'll be awesome.
