Alright I suppose it is time to update this and say I survived. I slept, I read, and I grieved and I feel better.
It's not Trumps ideas I hate, I love the idea of smaller government and some of his other ideas seem cool too. It's him, and nations ability to look past how horrible he is. I don't think most people like his horrible side, but they're willing to look past it to listen to him. It's harder for people he has personally insulted to do this (and as a woman, watching the way he treats women, I feel this way), but if Hillary Clinton can do it the day after that nasty election then so can I.
I think the protesting is stupid, or at least emotional and short sighted. I'm interested to see if things can be improved by new methods and, if I'm honest, happy that it won't be democrats fault if things go wrong. I'm still registered as non-partisan, I like a lot of republican ideas, but my heart and my idealism always follow the democratic party. I am happy there will be no more blaming Obama for everyone's problems, it will give my heart a rest. I know watching everyone tear apart Hillary for the next 4 years would have been difficult as well.
I'm glad I voted, here is a picture of Jon and I after we left the polls.
Here are some links I liked.
