Van Date

Yesterday I had to be at work by 4:55AM so I took the opportunity to leave early enough to pick Van up from preschool. I was so excited, I didn't know until the minute I left if I would be able to do it, but it ended up working out.

He was happy just to see me, but since Esther was likely still napping I decided I wanted us to go do something fun, so I looked up movie times in the area.

We ended up heading to the Dimond Center to see BoxTrolls, but first we had an hour to kill.

Van watched some ice skating

He rode all the escalators. Really I wasted money on everything else. I could have just taken him here and told him we were riding escalators and he would have been thrilled.

Here is Van in front of the movie Theater
At this point I realized, 'wait, that's essentially a belly shirt, what size is that 18 months? is he wearing Esther's clothes?'
Turns out it was 4T. But still too small for him.

So we picked out a new shirt, on sale at Gap Kids. I picked out cool ones with bikes and airplanes. But he insisted on this one because he thinks it has a cupcake on it (it does not).

Then with more time to kill, we ate an ice cream cone.

Van took a couple of pictures on his own.

And finally it was movie time!
We were the only ones in the theater.
The seats were amazing! So big and comfy. We ended up sitting in the same seat by the end.
He's never sat through a movie at the theater for me and this one was no different. Well he made it until there was probably 5minutes left, so I guess we were close. But then said, 'Mom, let's go home'. So we did.
