Bakersfield

The trip to Bakersfield was awesome. We worked in the BakerHughes facility taking apart ESPCPs (Electronic submersible progressive cavity pumps). They had either broken or been pulled for some other reason. We got to cut them up and catalog the damage, learning a lot about how they work in the process.

Here is Marina on some cool running trails we found in Bakersfield.

 In my BakerHughes hard hat.

Andy and Jon worked or went on adventures during the day while Marina and I pulled apart pumps.

Bakersfield is a huge oilfield town. There are many many many pumpjacks. This is not what we have on the slope. It is a different type of oil production than I am used it. It was cool to see.
