How a goal is scored

Quick tutorial.

Soccer

I signed Van up for soccer this summer.
It doesn't start until May 18th, but today Andy took him down to get soccer supplies. It's almost too cute for me to handle.

Van: "Mom, did you know, Marlies will put anything in her mouth that will fit."
Me: "Oh yeah?"
Van: "Yeah. So if you're a mouse, you better watch out for Marlies."

Taking notes

Esther was so cute taking notes

Unfortunately it turned out she had Andy's checkbook, and made some adjustments to our taxes.

So I to do a quick switch, and give her a pad of paper instead.

Just relaxing. Making a checklist.

Family bike ride

Andy is finally home, after 3 long weeks away.
We set out early this morning for a bike ride.

First stop was Trailside elementary school, about 3 miles away.
We stopped there for a snack of popcorn.

Then on the road again, here we are at Service high school, Van is biking back to try a jump he saw.

Then we stopped again at O'Malley Elementary school.

I am resting.

Andy is trying to rest.

But somehow it never works out for him.

All in all, we biked almost 8 miles with a lot of hills. I was exhausted. Van is getting to be a great biker.

Evening time

Here are a couple of typical spring/summer evening activities. Van is playing with the neighbors, John (6), Sam (5) and Wyatt (3). Their mom is in the Alaska Running Hall of Fame or something, she is extremely fast. And along those lines, these boys are extremely full of energy.

Esther suits up in her bathrobe and sets out on a bike ride.

Eventually, we end up at grandma's house, where she plays all of the games.
