Shopping

Esther, Jon and I went to Fred Meyer.

Then Esther went to play at the play area. It is for kids 2-5. So Jon and I shopped alone for a while.

Basketball practice

Van at basketball practice. We signed up for this league that only has about 4 or 5 kids in it.

This practice only had two kids.

Still fun to watch though.

One plus side of low enrollment, Esther and I have a lot of room to play.

Jon is a big fan too.

Spelling words

Trying to find creative ways to work on spelling words. I made Van a spelling words scavenger hunt.

I hid all the clues the night before except one.

And when he woke up he found them and filled them out.

To the mailbox

We all walked to the mailbox to mail a letter. Everyone had a different mode of transportation.

Jon immediately fell asleep in this.

 And Van on his bike.

Esther is mad. Because she got behind, and wouldn't come and wouldn't come, but then cried when I kept walking.

Cute. Even with one mad baby.

Unicorn upkeep

I should also mention that right now, while I madly produce blog posts, Esther and I are playing pretend.
When I sit on the computer and type, we play this game where she sets chairs behind me and pretends they are a big car. We pretend to drive all kinds of places. Sometimes I give her pretend money and send her into the store and she picks up pretend groceries. Right now she's having a pretend sleepover. It was exhausting because I had to pick up all 7 of her friends and she had to buy all of them Elsa sleeping bags. She just made them popcorn and now they are watching a movie. ;)

The Bubbly Mermaid

I went out with a friend from work. We went to a place called 'The Bubbly Mermaid', which sells champagne and oysters, I can't wait to take Andy, he loves Oysters, and they were delicious!

Then we went to see 'The Portland Cello Project' at the Performing Arts Center. We are so classy.

The only downside is that after 1 year of being pregnant + nursing, 2 glasses of champagne meant I was tipsy enough I still couldn't drive home, even after the concert. Also we were also still hungry. Because although the Oysters were delicious, they weren't very filling. So after the concert we went to Ginger for water and Halibut tacos.

It was a fun night.

23 and Me

Andy got me a genetic test for my birthday and last week I got the results back.

No disease markers showed up, I was less Neanderthal than 89% of the population, and here is my genetic distribution.

Nothing super surprising, but it was fun to see

This was interesting, 

It tells you what year a realtive that was 100% each of these categories would have been, based on your DNA results. It says a great, great grandparent was likely 100% Finnish, and dad said he remembered that someone on his side was Finnish, while the others were Swedish/Norwegian. 

We think the Yakut and East Asian is from my mom's side, that was something we were wondering if we would find.

Andy had his done as well, he is about 50% British/Irish and 30% French/German, 20% generic western European. So anyway, now we know.
