Happy Birthday Mom

Friday Feb 12th was mom's birthday. I made a specialty pizza at her request, caramelized onion with pear, prosciutto, gorgonzola cheese topped with arugula salad. Here is the recipe I followed.

Van is just home from school sorting through his valentines day goodies, the pizzas are all at various stages. (one is just pepperoni).

 Here is a pear/gorgonzola one cooked, but without the arugula salad.

I also made fesenjan pomegranate chicken and served it as a dip with naan bread.

Then we played Apples to Apples, and mom made a delicious lemon angel food cake.

It was a great night, Happy Birthday mom!

Murder Mystery Party

Andy and I were invited to a Murder Mystery party, the theme was Hollywood and we were supposed to dress up as a Latin American couple. I was a famous pop star diva and Andy was my husband an up and coming actor. We were Lola and Mario Talent.

Ultimately I went with something that looked more like the first option.
I added some of Svea's sunglasses, fur coat, and jewelry to make it more Hollywood.

And of course my handsome husband!

Mom got out some of the dresses she had made for me when I was little and we put them on Esther. So cute!

Ski for women - In the news

Ski for Women 2016

The kids and I did the Ski for Women this morning.

We meant to do it with Svea and her kids but we accidently signed up for different races. Svea did the  3.3 km Classic race at 11:00AM and we did the 1.5 km Party wave at 12:00 PM. Our race was very short but that was fun because then Esther was able to ski the whole thing. Van took off in the beginning and we didn't see him again until the finish line.

After the race, Van is at the chalet eating some bread. I didn't get any pictures during the race, but lots of photographers were snapping pictures of Esther, so I'm guessing I will have more to link to later. Svea said they were interviewed on the news, so we might see them later too.

Flying

Andy is teaching the kids how to land an airplane in the flight simulator.

Painting class

Svea did a painting class for mom and some of her friends. I got to go too, so fun!
