Sand Dunes

So last week Svea met us out at the sand dunes near Kincaid. That morning Van had run the fun run at the zoo, you can see he is still wearing his red shirt from the event.

It was a beautiful day and on the way back we even got to watch the bikers on the dirt biker course.

Van is showing me the beautiful view he found.

Covered in dirt after 5 minutes there.

The girls climbing up the cliff

Happy Mother's Day

Andy made us steak, shrimp, potatoes and salad. It was so nice, we decided to have a picnic

5 mile bike

Van, Esther and I just biked 5 miles!

What a little stud, a beautiful sunny day and we biked from our house down to Trailside elementary playground, then on to McDonalds! (Andy picked us up so we didn't have to bike 5 more miles home)

Van: He just found out that once we left trailside our next stop was McDonalds. "Mom, do you know how much you love me?"
Me: "Yes!"
Van: "That is how much I love McDonalds."

Birch Park

Van has been doing great on his big kid bike, so I decided to venture out for a trip to the nearest park. Unfortunately, unlike our culdesac days, Birch park is about a mile away, on mostly dirt roads, with plenty of hills.
It was an adventure for sure.

Here is Esther, packed in and ready to go

That face!

Heading up the driveway. I look like such a mom.

Here's the crew, ready to head out.

This was Van's favorite.

After much swinging, we finally had to head home. The trip back was mostly uphill, difficult on a new rider to say the least, but I was impressed with his perseverance.
