This is the AirBnB I rented while in Seattle. It was just a room in a townhouse. They were so nice they let me check in at 6AM when I arrived in Seattle and get a nap after not sleeping on the red eye.
Plus they had cute kittens.
And a cool deck.
Me with one of the kittens. They were so sweet and purred when you picked them up.
Me on the rooftop deck.
Passed a Vans store in downtown Seattle
I should stop here and say that the full free day I had in Seattle was defined by all the delicious food I got to eat.
- First after arriving at my AirBnB I was starving. They had provided free snacks and I had a cup of noodles (6AM). It was amazing.
- Then (after a nap) I went to Ezel's for their famous fried chicken (10AM)
- Then I went to Pike's Street Market and ate the blackberries pictured above and a cheese and garlic roll at Pirosky pirosky (12)
- For dinner I met Jessie and Megan for dinner at Poppy's. (6PM) more pictures on that later.
- Followed by ice cream at Molly Moons (8PM). Yum!
Menu at Poppy's. I got the Steak Collette Thalis.
This might be Megan's the vegetarian Thalis
And Jessie with the chicken Thalis
Before dinner Megan took me to her office (Geocaching, Inc) where there is a free photobooth that you can use to log the main geocache....
Also earlier in the day when I was alone, I visited Columbia Tower, for beautiful views of Seattle.
And I spent a lot of time on the bus system, which I used as my main mode of transportation.
I was really excited to catch my friend Caewyn in Downtown Seattle on Friday morning for 45 mins before she went to work. We hadn't seen each other since my wedding 8 years ago!
After seeing Caewyn, it was time to take the 2 hour shuttle to Anacortes, in preparation for the 2 hour ferry to Friday Harbor.
Luckily I was able to book the same shuttle as my friend Rachel
Here we are on the Ferry
And the cute town of Friday Harbor when we arrived
Then we just had to take a little boat across the harbor to Tabie's parent's house for the Wedding Welcome party.
Walking up to the house
The view from the porch
I took this picture of the clams for Andy, one of his favorites.
Beautiful interior of their house
Beautiful bathroom, reminds me of the one Andy designed and built in our old house!
Late that night we took the small boat back into Friday Harbor. Here is a picture of the house we rented a room in.
A view of up and down the street.
On Saturday I was thrilled to be asked to make the chalkboard 'Welcome' sign. They told me what they wanted it to say and this is what I came up with.
Then it was time to get ready for the wedding!
Bridesmaids
More bridesmaids
The bride!
Note their dog Wally sitting on the seat in between Bonnie and David.
The kind of program two dentists would have.
Table settings.
After originally being set outside, we had to move the tables inside due to rain and wind.
The venue. Brickworks in Friday harbor.
Katie, Tabie, and Rachel.
The wedding was great, but it wasn't long until it was time to head back home again. Here we are pulling away from Friday Harbor on the Ferry Sunday morning.
Waiting for the shuttle back to Seattle, which took me straight to the airport. Adventure complete.
