Today is gorgeous. We woke up early to a beautiful sunny day so we set on our bikes at about 8:45AM. We just arrived home now at 1:15. Here is our route.
We started at the bottom right and biked down to Huffman Elementary school. Ultimately we knew we wanted to go to the zoo, but they didn't open until 10, so we had to play somewhere else first.
Oh also there was a moose in the yard when we left.
Here we are down at Huffman Elementary school, mile 3 on the map. But it was easy up to this point, because it was all downhill.
Then we set off again, we had up hills and downhills to get over to the zoo.
Here is a sleepy baby eating some yogurt in the burley.
We made it to the Zoo! Mile 5
They got popcorn as a treat for being so tough.
The polar bear was out swimming.
The petting zoo was open
This is raisin the bunny. We said we would take a picture for Solvej.
The snow leopard.
We always stop here to play, the kids love this circle. We need to build a stone circle in our yard.
Starting the long trek home, all uphill. We bought a lot of snacks at the zoo's snack shop so we could take frequent breaks and eat snacks.
Esther fell asleep
Van and on one of our breaks.
Biking uphill, at least it is a beautiful day.
There is this book box at mile 7 on the map. It is so great! you can take books and leave other books. We didn't have any with us, so we grabbed two, but we will have to drop two off later today.
Anyway, a great day. And fun that this year we can go out and back. As long as we have plenty of time and treats.
