Why do apples cause so many fights in our house?

 - Everyone wants an apple
 - It has to be a full apple. Not a half, or quarter of an apple. God forbid, an apple slice.
 - No one will share an apple.
 - The apple is eaten 1/2 of a centimeter deep, all the way around. This takes time.
 - If the apple turns brown during the process, a new apple is required.
 - Despite rules about sitting down while eating, apples with 1/2 cm bites around the center are found throughout the house.
 - If you make Esther sit at the counter with her apple, she will cry, and ask for a different apple.
 - Van will refuse to eat his dinner because he is not hungry, while crying that you gave his sister a bite of his apple.
 - The apple everyone wants the most, is the apple someone else has.
