Traveling

People want to know how the kids did on the place. For the first time in his life, Van was easy. I bought him a new lego set. A cool machine that goes over snow and has a crane. We spent time building it and then he played with it. Also Andy had loaded movies onto a portable device for him.

Esther on the other hand, for the first time in her life, was not easy.

Our schedule was a 6 hour flight from Anchorage to Dallas, leaving at 8:45 PM, 1 hour after her bedtime.

Here is Esther waiting for that flight. She is jazzed up.

Here she is after sleeping only 1-2 hours of that flight in 20 minute spurts. (Van slept 5 of the 6 hours)

Then we had a 4 hour layover (no sleep for either, I did fall asleep on the floor for 15 minutes, Andy had Esther and Van was playing by me. After I fell asleep he decided to go play on the escalators, causing Andy and I three minutes of panic.)

And then a 2.5 hour flight to Pittsburgh. I didn't take any pictures but luckily Esther slept the entire 2.5 hour flight and I think Van watched a movie.

Here we are after arriving at Lisa's house in Pittsburgh. Luckily even after a terrible day of and a half of traveling, we still had some smiles.

Not a trip for wimps.
