Me: "You want to know how jet propulsion works?"

A day of skiing
This morning Van and I went cross country skiing with the Lunoes.
We did Randy's loop. For the most part he can do it by himself, but his favorite part is when I skied with him between my legs for the big downhill.
'That was AWESOME!' he said.
So I decided we should try some downhill skiing. Because he's a bit of a daredevil, I had this idea that he would love every second of it and be a total natural. Obviously my perspective was pretty skewed. He was more like a 4 year old who'd never been on downhill skis before. Like 45 lbs of putty in my arms as I directed him down the hill. I held onto him the whole time. I think his balance improved by the end, but he can't do it on his own yet, he's just getting used to the feeling. I'm sore, but he got kind of cold.
Van on the slopes.
Success! On the last run, we finally got to ride on the McDonald's chair, which was Van's goal all along. He was disappointed that they didn't hand out nuggets on the chair.

A cute little Saturday
Getting ready for a birthday party
I get one picture
Before this happens
She comes up laughing. What a cute pair.
This was so close to being the cutest picture, if only she was looking.

Technical difficulties
I haven't been able to post much because last week Van spilled a glass of water on my computer and now it's not working.
But here's a quick one.
Dad sent us this video
Ice Burn ..... crazy Canadians skiing in the buff
I thought it was pretty funny and I thought, Van would get a kick out of this, it's innocent enough and he loves being naked.
(side note: Van and I were going to play Lemurs right before bed and I told him to first go put his jammies on but instead he came back naked. I was like, "why are you naked?" and he said, "No, I'm pretending I have fur.")
Anyway, Van did like the video, he wanted to watch it over and over. But it wasn't until the next day that I realized the new rule, kids are like megaphones. Don't show anything to them that you don't want projected to anyone they may meet at any time.
The dad of the kids we nanny share with came to pick them up and Van says, 'Have you seen that video where people ski naked!'
Not sure if we're making the best impression...

Svea and Vanessa hats
I sent Van over to get Finn this morning.
Finn was going to come over to eat crepes. I couldn't find Van's hat, but since it was just a quick trip, I put this old 'Vanessa' hat on him that mom has been saving for Esther.
So Svea sent Finn back over to my house in her old 'Svea' hat. They were so funny both standing on my doorstep, I had to take some pictures.
Here they are playing in the snow.

Van is eating snow. A very common Vanessa pastime.
Mom, doesn't Odin look like Teak? The next generation of 'Bergstedts'
Date night
Andy and I went out for date night last night. We saw 'Ender's game' and had dinner at Bear's Tooth.
